Malic Acid Apple Facial Toner

an apple a day keeps the wrinkles away!

Apple Facial Toner

Jenn sent in her homemade apple toner recipe, which is not only really quick and easy make, but a wonderfully rejuvenating skin care treatment as well.

She has found this toner to be a terrific all-purpose malic acid toner which works to maintain the pH balance of her skin and keep her complexion fresh looking.

Jenn says that plain apple cider vinegar can be used straight from the bottle as a toner too!  (Although the smell is rather strong.)

Jenn finds that her apple toner not only helps to combat wrinkles and to keep her skin firm, this simple combination of ingredients also helps to prevent acne outbreaks!

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

Roughly chop apple and place in saucepan with vinegar over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, until the apple has begun to turn into applesauce

Press mixture through a sieve then strain into clean bottle

Keep unused portion in refrigerator for several days.

Don't worry that the mixture will be a little cloudy. Just think of all those rich nutrients that your skin will benefit from!

Jenn also will add fresh herbs from the garden such as mint or parsley during the summer and a handful of finely chopped rose hips in the fall.
