Information on Antiaging Skincare

I'm so confused! I need help with information on antiaging skincare and how to get started taking better care of my skin.

No offense, but while this website is clearly a treasure trove of wonderful information on anti-aging skin care treatments along with products and strategies, to be honest I find it incredibly overwhelming. There are just so many options and so much information.

I just need a short and sweet (as well as very easy how to) answer on what I have to do in order to get started taking better care of my skin.

I really hate seeing myself transforming into an ugly old, wrinkly hag.

So can you please help me?

What do I use to get started on getting rid of wrinkles and those ugly red brown sun spots? How often do I use it? When? Why? How does it work?

Is it possible to give me a quick little guide on what I need to do in order to get started on making my skin look better?

Many Thanks,

Cathie

Basic Antiaging Skin Care Routine

Good point Cathie!

Each morning after cleansing your face use an antioxidant toner. Then apply a retinol moisturizer. Since you didn't indicate what skin type you have, these options are for all skin types. (However, if you have oily skin, you could use a higher concentration of retinol.)

Before bed, use a glycolic toner a few times a week then a different antioxidant toner the other nights (that way your skin will benefit from a broader range of nutrients) along with a night time retinol moisturizer.

Once or twice a week use a microdermabrasion scrub: (For more options I also included two of my favorites- the Clarisonic Facial System for deep cleansing as daily home spa treatment and the Clarisonic Opal for daily treatment of under eye puffy and/or dark circles).

Finally, my all-time favorite home facial spa rejuvenation treatment is the galvanic system. Although it is quite pricey, it gives awesome results quite quickly and continues to give noticeable improvements over time. . .
The NuSkin Galvanic Spa Skin Care System uses patented technology of positive and negative charged gentle galvanic electric current that deeply penetrates through the layers of skin to deliver the rejuvenating benefits of the specially formulated AgeLoc treatments gels right to where they are needed most, to the cells.

Is that more helpful?

You aren't alone! There is a TON of information and treatments that work to rejuvenate aging skin symptoms.

Just start with one product with an active antiaging ingredient then slowly add a few different treatments that target your specific concerns.

To begin:
One of the most effective, clinically proven anti-aging treatments is retinol, (Vitamin A). Read the label of the product first though, you want to make sure that the concentration of retinol, the active anti-aging ingredient is at least .3% to 1%.

Note:
The strongest retinol you can buy over-the-counter is at a 1% concentration and is very, very strong! Carefully follow the instructions so that your skin doesn't become reactive or overly sensitive.

Matching a product to your skin type is also extremely important.

For example, if you have sensitive skin start with a low concentration of retinol once a day and gradually work up to stronger strengths as your skin becomes accustomed to it.

If you have oily skin, then by all means, jump right in and go for a medium concentration of retinol, .5%, then work your way up to a 1%.

Remember, it will take several weeks before you begin to see results so be patient.
