Summer Skin Care

While swimming is good for health and heart it isn't as good for the skin. Here are some helpful summer skin care tips for before and after swimming.

Swimming pool water contains harmful chlorine and sea water contains salt both of which can make your skin itchy and dry.

So before going in the water and after coming out keep in mind the following:

    * Apply waterproof sunscreen before and after going swimming. This is a must for all summer skin care.

    * The sunscreen product should be sweat free, oil-free and offer all-day protection. There are also some sunscreens lotions available that contain vitamins A, C and E which will help moisturize your skin.

    * Make sure that you evenly apply the sunscreen lotion to all exposed part of your body and don't forget to apply it on the tops of your ears and the tops of your feet. Always follow the product's label for recommended reapplications.

    * Always use a body wash with petroleum, glycerin or a mild cleanser with lukewarm water. These will help your skin to moisturize and rehydrate while you're in the shower.
