Sensitive Skin Care Tips

Dealing with sensitive skin happens to be very difficult especially where the environment is harsh, too cold or hot. Your skin is thin and thick in various areas of your body.

Thin skin is more sensitive than thicker skin because the blood capillaries are near the outer surface of skin and it can not resist the hot and cold weather.

Sensitive skin gets sunburned immediately and becomes dry. Most of the allergic reactions develop in people having sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin is vulnerable to harsh cosmetics, oils and soon gets irritated. Therefore, proper care must be done for having healthy skin.

Choosing Make-Up:

Choosing a right and hypo-allergenic make up is a tricky task even if it is labeled hypo-allergenic. First find out if your skin is dry or oily. If it is oily, buy non-oily cosmetics. If it is dry, buy oil based cosmetics.

Fragrance in cosmetics may also cause allergic reaction, therefore avoid buying fragrant cosmetics. You can also use water based cosmetics as they are gentle.

Face Wash:

You can use a quality herbal face wash for removing impurities of your skin. Face wash is generally used for treating bacterial infection of skin and removing dirt and other impurities.

Do not over-use the face wash as it may cause irritation and make your face dry and flaky.

Astringents:

Astringents are special antibacterial substances available as creams and lotions to help protect your skin from bacterial infection. They not only protect but also destroy bacterial colonies and normalize your skin growth.

Salicylic Acid:

Salicylic acid is also a strong antibacterial and exfoliating agent. It removes dead skin cells, germs and excessive sebum from clogged hair follicles.

Salicylic Acid destroys bacterial colonies within hair follicles and promotes healthy growth. Do not use salicylic acid for longer as it may cause irritation and makes the skin drier.
