Natural Skin Care ~ How Fun!

Natural skin care recipes can be just as effective as the products that you purchase in stores and many times even more effective because you are using high quality and fresh ingredients. You know exactly what you are putting on your skin, not to mention that it is so inexpensive.

Herbalists and herb lore have demonstrated throughout time that natural remedies have a significant impact in treating a variety of ailments, diseases and conditions as well as skin disorders. Even the majority of medicinal treatments are based upon the properties intrinsic in natural skin care ingredients.

There are a wide range of herbs and natural ingredients that are effective on wrinkles, age spots and sagging skin.

I love making my own skin care recipes, especially facial masks because they leave your skin so soft, supple, and smooth.

Natural Skin Care Garden
by: A.S.

I would add to your natural skin care garden the following plants which are used in a variety of recipes and have some wonderful attributes when making your own skin care products:

Lavender
Cucumber
Calendula
St. John's Wort
Geranium
Echinacea
Pansy
Nasturtium

You can even dry lavender and use it throughout the winter in facial steam recipes or add it to your favorite facial mask.

Growing Natural Skin Care Ingredients
by: Skye

I'm planning out my garden for the summer and would like to know what would be the best plants for growing natural skin care ingredients so I can start making my own skin care treatments?

I plan on planting some rose bushes along with a variety of perennial flowers like lavender. I also am planning on a vegetable garden as well and am thinking of rosemary, thyme and mint.

What would be other plants to include so I have a lot of variety for skin care recipes? I would like to be able to either dry or freeze the flowers/leaves to use throughout the winter.
