How Often to Exfoliate?

How often do you exfoliate?

How often do you exfoliate?

Hey! Thanks for the invite to ask questions. I love that! I'm curious about how often to exfoliate. Is there a rule of thumb?

I have sensitive, dry, skin that seems to react against exfoliation. It gets really red when I use a microdermabrasion scrub more than twice a week. (Although it does leave my skin nice and smooth which I like.)

How often should people with mature skin exfoliate? What products are the best for exfoliation?

I also wanted to say that I enjoy the newsletter every month and find the topics informative and interesting. I especially like the new natural skin care recipe every month. That motivates me to make up my own skin care treatments now and then.

I'm looking forward to learning everyone's thoughts on exfoliation!

Thanks,

Trudy

Exfoliation for Aging Skin
by: Beth

Exfoliation is critically important for older, mature skin in order to stimulate new cell growth.

You do need to select an exfoliation strategy based upon your skin type because different skin types benefit from a variety of different strategies.

Sensitive skin would use a gentler exfoliation techniques while oily and heartier skin types can use a stronger more aggressive approach.

Experiment with the different acids to see which ones work best for your skin type. Also try different cleansing scrubs and microdermabrasion products.

Some skin types can handle daily exfoliation while other skin types should only exfoliate every few days.

I live to use skin peels and crystals. I exfoliate my skin each week , I am 40 and I have a clear complexion and NO wrinkles.
