Why Exfoliate Face

Why Exfoliate Face

It's so important to regularly exfoliate face to make skin look younger. Exfoliation gets rid of the old, dead skin cells that collect on the surface of your face.

By getting rid of those skin cells. new and fresher looking cells are exposed, the skin is amazingly softer and you also stimulate cell renewal.

It's really incredible what exfoliation can accomplish! Even after the first time. And best yet, it really takes no effort at all.

There are basically two forms of exfoliation:

  • Chemical: Using an acid or enzyme to dissolved dead cells

  • Mechanical: Using a scrub, facial brush or any type of dermabrasion

I tell my clients that the simplest way to exfoliate is to make a paste mixing oatmeal or sugar as the abrasive with the freshly squeezed juice from a lemon, lime or orange. Store the mixture in a container in the shower and lightly scrub the facial skin at least once or twice a week.

Done!

As an alternative, use a chemical exfoliant like a 8% to 10% glycolic acid treatment before applying a daily moisturizer.

With each exfoliating treatment, the skin becomes noticeably more vibrant, healthy, soft, younger looking and radiant.

So many of my clients complain about how old and tired their skin looks but they don't realize that they really need to make a long-term commitment to a well-rounded skin care regime in order to keep their skin healthy and therefore younger looking.

Regular exfoliation is the cornerstone for any skin care routine, no matter what your age is and it literally takes so little effort.

So ladies, get exfoliating! You'll be rewarded with younger, healthier looking skin. (And your spa facial technician will be delighted by your efforts too.)

Rejuvenatingly Yours,

Estel, RN
