Haunted Skin Care Happenings

The change in seasons is sure to bring haunted skin care happenings!

Perhaps your skin has already begun to developing dry spots or started to become chapped and flaky.

These are the first symptoms that your skin is starting to become dehydrated and needs to rebalance its' moisture content. Seasonal changes are the perfect time to give your skin a series of moisture rich facial mask treatments once or twice a week. Rejuvenating masks differ significantly so it is important to select an appropriate mask suited to your skin type.

Whether you purchase over-the-counter (OTC) masks or make your own using fresh, all natural ingredients to enhance your skin health, be sure that you select the ingredients that will be the most beneficial to address not only your skin type but your aging skin symptoms.

Masks are formulated to clean, rebalance, nourish, tighten pores, exfoliate, hydrate, moisturize or provide a combination of several of these beneficial skin rejuvenation requirements.

You will notice that there are several distinct different categories of facial mask treatments. Most masks have vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that work to "feed" and revitalize the skin.

Here is a quick guide for selecting the right facial mask for your skin type:

  • Mud and Clay Facial Masks: Oily skin types
  • Moisturizing Facial Masks: Dry sensitive skin types
  • Exfoliating Facial Masks: Oily, normal and combination skin types
  • Gel Facial Masks: Depending on the ingredients, all skin types
  • Heated Masks: All skin types
Facial masks are usually applied for as few as 5 minutes up to 25 minutes.

Personally, I like to gently massage my skin in a circular motion to stimulate the skin cells followed by a herbal facial steam to open up the pores prior to applying a mask. Right after rinsing the mask off, I then apply a light treatment of coconut oil or other rich moisturizing treatment so that it will deeply penetrate the skin to seal in the moisture.

Since I happen to have fair, sensitive skin which reacts to the changes in seasons, I make sure that I leave enough time to give my skin two hydrating mask treatments each week. Once a week is usually sufficient for most other skin types.

Rejuvenating facial masks improve the overall health of the skin which in turn will reduce wrinkle depth, diminish age spots and contribute to a brighter, fresher, healthier skin tone. They are also a great relaxing experience and stress reliever! So kick-up your heals and find a quiet spot and treat your skin to a quick rejuvenating facial mask now and then.

A proactive approach to your aging skin will actually prevent "haunted happenings" from paying unwelcome visits that will plague your skin.

Ask!

I am often asked how to identify the best strategy for treating specific aging skin concerns. Everyone's skin type is different, their aging skin conditions are different and therefore, approaches to the types of facial rejuvenation treatments they select should be different too.

Every anti-aging skin care regimen should be tailored to specifically address your own individual concerns.

So what's the best way to assess what is going to be the most effective method of repair for your specific aging skin issues and which rejuvenating treatments will produce the best results for your skin type?

Just ask!

Make use of the free resources available to you. Whether it is a quick trip to a Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, Aesthetician, or Cosmetologist, many of these professionals offer FREE consults!

So why wonder? Book yourself an appointment and learn what the professionals advise for your specific skin concerns. Then do it yourself!

Of course, I do bat my baby blues and shamelessly ask for samples as well. :-)

NuFace Facial Toning Device:
Firms, Tones and Tightens Sagging Skin

Have you heard of the NuFace facial toning devise? It was recently featured on the Rachel Ray show to demonstrate the use of how a gentle micro electrical stimulation firms, tones and tightens sagging skin.

Rachel Ray demonstrated the NuFace devise on TV personality Lara Spencer who reports:

"Do not be afraid, do not be alarmed," jokes Lara about the odd-looking machine. "This is the world's first and only at-home, hand-held facial toning device. It uses microcurrent technology to resurface your face." Lara says that a third-party study showed that the NuFace Facial Toning Device resulted in a 67 percent reduction in lines, a 13 percent reduction in sagging and a 31 percent reduction in roughness."
